Final meeting of COST 872. May 24th & 25th, Ghent (BE)
Held in association with the 63rd ISCP meeting

COST 872 held its final meeting in conjunction with the International Symposium on Crop Protection at Ghent University from 24th to 25th May. This allowed dissemination of the activities of COST 872 to a wide audience of plant protection specialists.

COST 872 Event at 2010 ESN meeting, Vienna (AT).

COST 872 ran a dissemination event linked to the 2010 ESN meeting in Vienna. The purpose of this event was to provide ESRs associated with COST 827 to make presentations about their work to an international audience. COST 872 also provided funds for three invited experts to highlight progress made in this area.

2010 Inter-WG workshop and MC Meeting. Lisbon (PT)

In addition to the usual scientific programme, delegates had the opportunity to attend a half day workshop on Science Communication which will be run by one of the world leaders in this field, Prof Frank Burnet. Further information about Frank's work can be found here: www.frankburnet.com

Training school: RNAi in plant parasitic nematodes

A training school on RNAi in plant parasitic nematodes was held in Belfast from April 12th - April 15th 2010. This training school provided hands on experience of the techniques required to design and perform RNAi experiments, including analysis of transcript reduction and phenotyping. A series of invited speakers also gave presentations. The programme can be found here .

2009 Inter-WG workshop and MC meeting, Toledo, Spain

A combined inter-WG workshop and MC meeting (the main COST 872 event for 2009) was held in Toledo (Spain) from 25th to 28th May 2009. The meeting was organised by Lee Robertson and Carmen Fenoll.

Genome Annotation training workshop

A training workshop on annotation of the Meloidogyne incognita genome sequence was held in Antibes from 19-21 November 2008 with the support of COST 872.

A combined inter-WG workshop and MC meeting (the main meeting for COST 872 in 2008) was held in Postojna, Slovenia from 26th-29th May 2008. The meeting was organised by Sasa Sirca and Barbara Geric Stare.

WG3 Workshop - Microarray analysis of plant-nematode interactions, Vienna, Austria (Feb 2008)

A workshop on the data emerging from microarray studies of plant-nematode interactions was held at BOKU in Vienna from 7th-8th February 2008. The workshop was organised by Florian Grundler and Holger Bohlmann. The aim of the workshop was to bring together researchers working on (or planning to work on) transcriptome analysis of the interaction between plant roots and nematodes in the hope of identifying areas of collaboration.

Firstannual meeting of COST 872, La Colle-sur-Loup, France (May 2007)

The first annual meeting (inter-Workgroup Workshop) of COST872 was held at VVF La Bergerie in La Colle-sur-Loup (France) from 9th-11th May 2007. The meeting was organised by Marie-Noelle Rosso (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). A total of 127 people representing 17 countries attended the meeting, with 76 of these delegates receiving support from COST872 to attend. The scientific programme mirrored the WG structure of COST 872 and included26 talks and32 poster presentations. The full scientific programme can be found here.
